Fade

(Dedicated to those babies that we never met)

Left here,

In the darkness.

Alone.

So alone.

She cries silently.

Missing you.

A love she never knew.

Fading light,

Fading dreams.

Her angel lost,

Pray, find your wings.

“Don’t be afraid,

We’ll be alright”.

She knows this is goodbye.

Fade, into the light.

She knows, you cannot fight.

Wishing love,

To her sweet star.

Fade away,

Fade away.

A splinter of the dawn’s light,

A wish that you could stay.

All her love can’t keep you.

Nothing,

Nothing she can do.

Broken heart,

Break of day.

Can’t time stand still?

Please can’t you stay?

But it’s too hard.

Can’t understand

Why this is goodbye?

Fade, into the light.

She knows, you cannot fight.

Wishing love,

To her sweet star.

Fade away,

Fade away.

I am a stay at home parent to a beautiful little girl. I am also an aspiring writer. I am currently working on a few projects; a novel that is set in Guernsey, post WWII and a children's book set in Ireland. I write two blogs; www.irenehalpinlong.com and www.hervoicefromthekitchenwindow.com. I also love to play the piano and flute (badly!) :) And I love, love, love to read, watch reality tv shows and do easy level Sudoku.
